Woooo new domain name!
Yes, you heard right – I’ve changed domains. You can still get here via terri.nu, and will be able to for the next 12 months (thereabouts), but I wanted to secure a new domain name to allow time for people to update their links etc. since I’m not comfortable with paying $30/year to renew when I could be paying $10-$15. And since you can only renew .nu domains for two years at a time, I don’t want to be hunting around for a spare $60 next year.
Yes, I understand I’ll lose terri.nu forever – and that does make me a little sad because hey, it’s my name and all, and I was lucky to be able to snag it, but it’s just not very creative for me personally and just seemed a little plain. If I find I have a spare $60 next year, I’ll renew it again and just direct it here, but otherwise it’ll be going.
So, why ‘Eleven Moons’?
Well, firstly my favourite number is eleven – I don’t know why, it just always has been. I like the sound of the word eleven, and I guess the symmetry of ’11’ appeals to me too. It’s interesting that in numerology, where double-digit numbers are normally broken down (i.e. 10= 1+0 = 1; or 23 = 2+3 = 5), 11 is considered a master number and isn’t broken down the same way; it’s an entity to itself. It’s a highly spiritual number representing balance of energies, which is interesting to me as a Pagan.
And the ‘moon’ part just speaks for itself – I love the moon. I have a tattoo of a triple moon design on my shoulder blade, and the moon holds a special power to me.
Combined, ‘Eleven Moons’ represents the eleventh month of the year – November. Given, I understand that there are 13 full moons in a calendar year, but I think generally speaking if you were to ask someone what month they associated the eleventh moon with, they’d say November. November is a very special month for my family – Michael and I started dating in November 2003, were married in November 2009 and had Lily in November 2012. A month full of anniversaries!
So if you link me at all, please update your blogrolls to elevenmoons.net 😀 Thanks!
