I’ve decided that enough is enough – I need to lose weight.
I lost about 10kg after each baby, and got down to 97kg after Emmett, but unhealthy eating and very little exercise has resulted in the weight creeping back up in the last 3 months, and I’m sitting around 6kg heavier than that now.
So on Tuesday night, I’m booked in to start an 8 week challenge – and the prizes are cash so I’m quite motivated by that!
Ideally, I want to lose about 20kg total – get down to around the 85kg mark – but of course I’m not expecting to lose that in 8 weeks. If I can lose around 10kg though, I’ll be a very happy, and healthy, woman.
I’ve asked Mum if my early Christmas/birthday present can be a FitBit Flex, so I have something to track my progress and calories burned. And I hope the process of losing the weight becomes easier as time goes on, as Emmett will be growing too and be able to entertain himself soon (things get much easier after they can sit up by themselves – you don’t feel as guilty plonking them down just anywhere!), plus him starting solids will help too, as he won’t rely quite as much on me for sustenance.
All in all, I’m pretty excited to be finally doing something that is for me, but that also benefits my family!
