On Friday we packed up our little family and headed down to the opposite end of the state for a weekend away. Breaking up the monotony a little was lovely, and it was nice to experience again some of the shops and variety we don’t have at this end.
The market on Saturday morning was beautiful as always, although freezing cold, but once the sun came out and had a chance to warm us up, we had an awesome time with some great food and admiring some very interesting and unique crafts and gifts. I purchased myself a new scarf and we bought a lovely beanie for Lily.
We headed to Big W later in the morning, since we don’t have one here, and stocked up on cheap onesies for Emmett, as well as a couple of Christmas items and some decent shoes for Lily too. I bought some candles from Dusk before we went to Nando’s for lunch. Later in the afternoon we headed to Target (can I get a what-what for Target?! I love that joint!), and Michael picked up a few shirts for himself.
In the evening we went to Hog’s Breath Cafe for dinner, where Lily was so well behaved and ate most of her dinner and all her dessert – we were rather impressed! I had the chicken parmigiana and Michael had one of the steaks. We had dessert too, because hey, we don’t go out for dinner very often!
All in all, it was a fun time away and great to spend just the four of us. I’m glad to be home though – my heart rests in this house, as much as it shits me at times, it’s home. It’s not much, but it’s home.
